Wade Wilson And Negasonic Teenage Warhead Get In A Tiff In New Deadpool 2 Deleted Scene
Superhero movies might have become commonplace in the past decade of blockbusters, but there are certain movies that stand out in the genre. Chief among them is the Deadpool franchise, which brought a twisted, fourth-wall breaking, R-Rated comic book adventure to the silver screen with both the original film and its already beloved sequel. Deadpool 2 hit theaters in May of 2018, helping to expand the X-Men universe, and uniting mutants new and old. One of the franchise's leading characters is Brianna Hildebrand's Negasonic Teenage Warhead, who became a full fledged member of the X-Men team in Deadpool 2. With David Leitch's sequel soon arriving on Blu-ray, tons of exciting new content is being released. This includes a deleted scene where Negasonic Teenage Warhead threw some shade at Wade Wilson. The shade is real. While Negasonic Teenage Warhead teamed up with Deadpool and Colossus to save Vanessa in the first Deadpool movie, that doesn't mean she's blind to Wade Wilson's missteps. When the protagonist decides to join the X-Men early in Deadpool 2's runtime, she's simply not buying his change of heart. Turns out NTW was right, as Deadpool broke the rules and went back to killing during his first mission with the team. The young X-Man is smarter than people give her credit for.
This short scene is enjoyable, but you can understand why it ultimately ended on the cutting room floor. Negasonic Teenage Warhead's relationship with Wade wasn't really a focus during Deadpool 2. So adding this extra conflict from within the X-Men wasn't super valuable. That being said, there is something awesome about seeing the daily lives of X-Men like Colossus. This scene also gives some extra screen time to NTW's girlfriend Yukio. Seeing Yukio sip her tea while Warhead throws insults at Wade Wilson is instantly meme-worthy, closely resembling the viral Kermit the Frog "none of my business" meme that been used all over the net for years.
With Deapdool 2 now available for home purchase, there should be plenty of new information arriving about the Merc with the Mouth's second silver screen adventure. The Deadpool franchise functions unlike any other comic book movie, so there's a ton of extra material that never made it to the final cut. Just look at the trailers: all the X-Force footage was filmed with the intention of faking out audiences. Plus with Ryan Reynolds and given the freedom of improv, there are endless hours of hilarious footage that could come to light when Deadpool 2 arrives on Blu-ray.
